If you want to embark on an unforgettable journey, away from the crowded areas, you are in the right place. Located up in a high meadow in the south-eastern part of Fagaras Mountains, at an altitude of 1599m, Comisu Wildlife hides are a haven for those who love off-the-beaten-track adventures.
Wildlife roaming free and breathtaking views await you! Built by Foundation Conservation Carpathia as part of a wildlife hides network, this eco-friendly cabin is a green business example with a positive impact on the environment and the local economy.
Itinerary
- Arrival (1pm-2pm) in Rucar village, Arges county.
- Upon arrival, your guide will pick you up in a 4WD vehicle and you will venture deep in the heart of Fagaras Mountains from Dambovita Valley (hiking trip of around 2 hours, depending on your fitness level) all the way up to Comisu hide.
- At dusk, look for bears, wild boar, European bison, fox, red deer or roe deer from the safety of the hide.
- In the evening, enjoy a tasty home-made dinner and a cold beer. We spend our evenings telling stories.
- At the crack of dawn, wake up to see wildlife with a mug of fresh tea or coffee.
- After a delicious breakfast, choose one of the hiking trails to explore the surroundings (for a minimum stay of 2 nights). During our journey, we may check our camera traps installed for wildlife monitoring.
- At lunchtime, we stop in a scenic place with breathtaking views over Făgăraș and Iezer-Păpușa Mountains to relax and enjoy a well-deserved picnic (this applies for minimum stay 2 nights; for a one-night stay, you will receive a packed lunch).

Important information
This wildlife watching tour organised by the Foundation Conservation Carpathia starts from Rucar village, Arges county. You can safely park the car here and leave large baggage in the offices.
Comisu wildlife hides can accommodate up to 6 guests. There are 4 bunk beds in the first hide and another 2 bunk beds in the second hide. The distance between the hides is around 10 minutes.
All profits go towards the conservation work of Foundation Conservation Carpathia*. *Foundation Conservation Carpathia (FCC) is one of the largest private conservation initiatives in Europe and has the goal to create a world-class wilderness reserve in the Carpathian Mountains.
By developing examples of green businesses in and around Făgăraș Mountains and working closely with the local communities, we intend to create a healthy and sustainable economy.

Impresionant
O experienta completa, ce se trăiește cu ochii, mintea și sufletul. În orice moment al zilei ți se dezvăluie un alt decor în fata ochilor de care pur și simplu nu te mai saturi sa'l privești. Se leagă conexiuni puternice de care nu erai capabil sau nu erai conștient, cu natura, cu oamenii locului care ne'au furnizat cele mai delicioase preparate, cu Simona "mama bear" ????, care face o treaba excelenta și pe care acum putem s'o numim "prieten". Can't wait to be back! u26f0ufe0f????
Memorabil!!! Departe de lume, liniste, trasee prin paduri salbatice unde intalnesti zimbri si cerbi...Nu ne-a lipsit nimic. Fundatia face o treaba minunata iar ghizii sunt gazdele perfecte!
