Nestled in the stunning Carpathians, a warm welcome awaits the intrepid explorer Michelsberg Haus, a unique blend of traditional charm and rustic luxury.
Brimming with the original wood and stone features, our beautifully restored traditional Saxon House retains the charming character of it’s 300 year history!
Evidence shows that Michelsberger Haus dates from at least 1709, with an 1889 renovation by Johann Henning. Johann’s inscription can clearly be seen carved into a mighty oak beam in “The Keller” breakfast room.
Our own recent renovation, whilst retaining the unique history of the buildings, has embraced sustainable tourism by making Michelsberger Haus also ‘Eco Friendly’.
It’s here where we warmly welcome you to enjoy a comfortable stay in an unique base, perfect for exploring our fascinating region!

Highly recommended for a visit
We had a great weekend at Michelsberger Haus. The house is situated in the middle of Cisnadioara, right at the foot of the hill where Cisnadioara Fortress rests.
The room wasn't very spacious, but had all the amenities one would expect in it and the bathroom was enormous. The breakfast was hearthy and was served in the cellar.
The hosts, Roxana and Tony, are very kind, helpful people and offered us lots of information about the area. We would be definitely coming back
