Description
Not far from Bucharest, at the foothills of Baiului Mountains, right on the bank of the Emerald Lake, as the Paltinu dam is referred as, we are waiting for you in a ritzy and private oasis of relaxation.
We are Vila Uno, an ultra-modern cabin, with a Scandinavian look. Here you live a unique experience by finding refuge from the daily stress and worries.
Whether you're planning a day trip paired with a fine dining lunch, a weekend escape, or a getaway for the entire family, ATRA greets you with a sensorial experience in the very midst of natural splendor.
Located only 90 minutes away from Romania's capital, Bucharest, ATRA came to life as a serene home away from home, a place to truly disconnect from the routines of city life right on the shores of Paltinu Lake.
The space
Downstairs: living, open kitchen with a dining space, 1 bathroom with a shower and a terrace.
Upstairs: 2 en-suite bedrooms with bathrooms, with double beds and mattresses to put on the floor in the lounge (1 double+ 2 single).
The guesthouse can host maximum 6 adults. On demand, we can offer children bed and chair.
The living room, dining room and terraces are facing the charming Paltinu Lake, while the bedrooms are protected from the road and the neighbors.
Access by car and parking on the premises are private (there is enough space for 4 sedan cars).
We offer a fully-equipped kitchen (fridge, electric stove, oven, coffee machine, cutlery, plates, cups etc) and a dining place.
The whole unit has free wifi.
Meals
Breakfast is included in the price of the booking and can be served at the villa. The rest of the (gourmet) meals and the fine dining dinners can be served at Atra restaurant located 10 minutes by walking.
Gourmet lovers are highly rewarded at ATRA Restaurant, a fine dining destination restaurant cultivating the Romanian identity using a farm-to-table approach.
Seasonality is at the forefront of the a la carte menu created by Chef Ionuț Gagiu, using fresh produce sourced from ATRA's own garden, as well as foraged from the surrounding forests.
The menu changes four times a year. During spring and summer, fruits, vegetables and local fish are in abundance. Autumn brings along wild mushrooms and game, while wintertime dishes are created from ingredients stored in the restaurant's pantry - pickles, marinated mushrooms and jams.
Evening weekends are reserved for fine dining food & wine pairing, a grand way to toast the end of the week on the terrace facing lake views, or inside the restaurant by the cozy stone fireplace.
Activities
You can rent for free MTB bikes and kayaks from the ATRA Doftana complex, to which Vila Uno belongs, to explore the virgin almost beauty of Doftana Valley.
