Experience Transylvania's Authentic Charm
The count's guesthouses are located in the small szekler town of Miclosoara/Miklosvar, 50 kilometers north of Brasov and a 4 hours drive from Bucharest.
The guesthouses, dating back to the 1800, are Transylvania's first authentic heritage accommodations.
The buildings have been carefully restored in order to preserve their original charm and character, furnished with antiques in the Transylvanian Szekler and Saxon styles.
A total of 7 rooms with double or twin beds and two spacious apartments hosted in the main house, the blue house and the lower houses, all located within a few hundred meters of each other.
The bathrooms respect western standards of comfort with hairdryers and toiletries, some with bathtubs, others with showers, and have a beauty and charm of their own. Individial rooms have en-suite bathrooms, apartments include two rooms and one bathroom each.
There are plenty of areas where guests can meet, read or play games and also have their meals. Drawing and dining rooms with large fireplaces are to be found at the main house at Miklósvár.
The guesthouses are situated within spacious gardens. There are arbours with benches and tables in all gardens, as well as comfortable deck-chairs with small tables. Hot tubs with salted water and sauna are also on-site.
Guest usually dine together in the wine cellar by candlelight warmed by the fire of the central fireplace.
The three-course lunches and three-course dinners are prepared mainly from local ingredients based on traditional transylvanian recipes by local cooks who have been passing down the recipes for generations.
Children are very welcome and the guesthouses are suitable for all ages.
The location at Miklósvár/Miclosoara is ideally situated to venture into three of the most defining regions of Transylvania: The Saxon Land, the Szekler Land and the Carpathian foothills.
We offer a number of cultural and natural excursions, one taking place every day of the week on a set schedule:
In addition, we offer horse-riding treks for the experienced, or lessons for beginners at our nearby stables. The museum in the newly restored renaissance manor is open to our guests.
