The origins for Apold or Trappold, how itșs named in old language or Pult/Polt in Saxon dialect, has many stories to be listened. You can check them right away when you visit the Old Fortified Church from the heart of the village Apold.
The most common story is about a Giant who walked these lands in need to travel from Hârtibaciului Valley towards Târnava Mare Valley and he was so tired of walking that he took some time alone and sat down on these lands trying to clean his boots. After that, three big hills remained untouched by time. Our house is just in between these peaks!
Our Transylvanian house is placed in the Centre of Apold Village, at no. 75, close to the Fortified Church and the Town Hall building. We restored our old Saxon house with 2 rooms and one common space into 2 separate bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Another 3 bedrooms were built with individual bathrooms and a small and coquet kitchen where you can serve homemade breakfast.
The house looks like in old time, having the very same furniture - Transylvanian pottery and wardrobes, sweet nightstands where you can put your book before sleeping and traditional carpets all over the house. One of the villagers helped us to restore all that we had in the old building beginning with the old beams.
We want you to feel like a Saxon here!
A huge bucket with salt and ice-cold water is placed in the garden and next to this there is a 10 to 12 people sauna where you can feel your soul melting.
The old barn and stables were transformed into a wood restaurant where you can invite maximum 50 great people to party with in the middle of Romania. You can serve your breakfast or you can ask us about any other opportunity to try Romanian food. Traditional food can be served at request. Breakfast is included.
Rooms have no name yet but you can put them tags if you feel like doing it. There are 13 double bedrooms with individual bathrooms, 1 room with 3 beds and 1 room with 6 beds which share the same bathroom placed on the old porch. Handmade paintings with our old establishment and village are placed on the walls so you can feel the fresh and non-urban air.
There is also a kitchen equipped with everything you need for coffee, tea, breakfast, cooking or baking. Also, there is an old stove outside together with a hob in the barbecue area - fresh beer is being served here; you will really like to rest that way!
Bike rental or quad bikes (ATV) trips are at your disposal and we can also plan some trips into the woods. If you visit us during holidays you might be surprised of our many Transylvanian customs - horse drawn sleigh ride, for example. There are so many things you can do here - we will give you advice and more. Just come and visit us!
