Description
On the border between Alba and Hunedoara counties, Glod Cottage has opened its doors for tourists who will live a unique experience. The craftsmanship of traditional Romanian houses deserves to be preserved. That's why we built these houses for our soul so that the tradition continues.
Lovers of mountains and mountain trails find in Glod the perfect place where they can escape and where they can truly enjoy the beauty of nature.
We are located near Cheile Glodului, a complex nature reserve, subdivision of the Metaliferi mountains. The reserve covers a total of 155 hectares.
The wind, the rains and the passage of years have made this region an impressive location. In Cheile Glodului we find karst valleys, sinkholes, impressive ridges. The beech and gorun forests in the area, the calcareous rocks, the caves in the vicinity... all these are the perfect ingredient for escaping from everyday life and returning to nature.
We currently have 15 accommodation places and the possibility of adding additional beds. Accommodation is in the complex that we have built with love in this region. Casa Glod is the perfect place where you want to escape from everyday life. The houses are approximately 200 years old, they have been refurbished by keeping the original elements and adding comfort elements (sanitary units, utilities, etc.).
Every house has its own story. The most appreciated by tourists is the "Casa Muzeu". It received this name because it is the oldest of the houses in our complex. Next comes the "Town Hall" and the "School" which are completed and available for accommodation.
